Our Annual Mummers Play!

FPC's children and youth will perform "St. George and the Dragon" at the 11 a.m. service under the direction of Janet Beatrice. This traditional Mummers' Play is considered by many to be a celebration of the Winter Solstice.

Versions of the Mummers' Play have been performed door to door in English villages by local players for hundreds of years. Our version of St. George and the Dragon is a compilation of many plays from several different villages and includes a time-honored sword dance which was traditionally performed by the men of the village.
