Harvard Unitarian Universalist Church (9 Ayer Rd, Harvard, MA) will host our traditional Joint Summer Service. Rev. Megan Lynes will lead worship, joined by many leaders from local congregations. The theme is “Mending with Gold.” Hope can feel out of reach when the world is so deeply fractured. Guided by kintsugi—the art of repairing broken pottery with gold—and Zagajewski’s poem, Try to Praise the Mutilated World, we explore how to live with honesty, sorrow, and a thread of hope. Through word, art, and song, we will reflect on what it means to seek beauty, not beyond the pain, but through it.
A pick-up choir will be led by Trish Woods and all are warmly welcome to join—whether you’re part of a choir or simply love to sing. No experience needed! Please arrive a little before 9 AM, so we can rehearse before the 10 AM service. Children are also welcome!
The Harvard sanctuary is fully accessible but not air conditioned. They have a cozy play space for children, and there will be an interactive Time for All Ages in the service. You are welcome to bring some food to share for Fellowship Hour.
The address is 9 Ayer Rd, Harvard, MA (access parking lot and the church on Elm Street).
