Construction Completed!

Our present church, constructed in 1848, is directly descended from the original “meeting house”, built in the 1680’s, concurrent with the founding of Stow (at that time Pompositticut Plantation). First Parish Church, now meeting house, has grown, as has the region, and now provides a liberal spiritual home to many residents of Stow and the surrounding towns.

As our congregation and programs have expanded, so have our physical needs. We have recently completed a major restoration and construction Capital Project. The church building received a new roof, exterior painting, improved interior lighting and other upgrades during 2012. This year our historic 1890s organ was removed, refurbished and totally restored. The sanctuary has also been rearranged to allow improved handicapped seating.

Fellowship Hall was built in 1996 to provide more meeting space, as well as adequate religious education rooms. This past year, the Hall was air-conditioned to afford comfortable summer meeting space.

Our new Connector Building is complete! This new building provides a covered passage between our two existing buildings and includes new meeting and office rooms, as well as a focal entry point to our entire facility. A three-story elevator has improved handicapped access to all parts of our buildings and campus. Our exterior campus property as been redesigned to include paved parking, improved outdoor lighting and new signage. Please come see all the changes at our open houses scheduled for Sept. 3rd and 6th (more information available on the home page of this website).

We're very excited about completing these projects! Come and see why!

Below is an archive list of all the previously sent weekly connector updates.
