The focus of our service this morning will be on the many ways that “We connect at FPC to build a strong community.” We will share stories, construct a chain of connections and each make a new connection this Sunday. This will be an active and fun service, yet rich and meaningful for all ages. Music will include child-friendly hymns and songs, and our worship leaders will include Tom Rosiello, Minister, Michellle Cote, DRE, youth, and adults from our congregation.

We often inquire about each other's physical health but we rarely ask someone, "How are things going in your spiritual life?" This morning we will focus on how we care for that dimension of our lives, and how important it is to do so. Are you feeling spiritually connected? If not, come and explore how you can. Worship will be led by The Rev. Tom Rosiello. At 11 AM our Adult Choir will sing a new anthem entitled, "May I Be Still" and given in honor of Nancy Grimes and Ed Steinfeld's marriage.

One Hundred years ago the Reverend Charles W. Eliot delivered an address at Harvard Divinity School entitled, “The Religions of the Future”. This morning we will examine his predictions and focus on what are the different characteristics of a religion that will be relevant in our time and in the future. Worship will be led by, The Reverend Tom Rosiello.

In the beauty of our candlelit church we will explore our dreams. What do they tell us? You are invited to bring a poem or reading about dreams to share with others. Music will be provided by Trish Woods, piano and Barbara Chickosky, trumpet. Vespers is a monthly service of readings, sharing, candle lighting, music and silence.

Where we end up so often depends upon how high we set our sights. So often we can accomplish far more than we thought we could by keeping our sights set on a lofty goal. Our Worship will be led by Rev. Tom Rosiello. Members of FPC Drums will enliven our worship and our choir will sing Randall Thompson’s wonderful setting of Robert Frost’s poem “Something Like A Star” at the 11 AM Service.

Worship will be led by Rev. Tom Rosiello with music provided by the Parish Jazz band at both services, FPC singers at the 9 AM service and the Adult Choir at 11 AM. We primarily remember Dr. King for his work as a leader of the movement for racial equality in this country. But that was not the only social justice issue on which Dr. King spoke out. Particularly in the later years of his life, he spoke out against war and for all the poor in America. We will hear Dr. King’s prophetic words again and apply them to our own time. Our music will include great spirituals and songs of justice.

Our guest preacher and worship leader this morning will be Sierra-Maria Gerfao who served for several years as the Director of Religious Education and Faith Development Ministries at First Unitarian in Worcester. She is currently seeking her Master of Divinity at Yale University. Sierra-Marie and her wife, Gina, have two children, ages five and six. She is passionate about helping people find their personal ministries in the world and uncovering ways to live out our Unitarian Universalist values in our larger communities. Our great music team of Director Mike Pfitzer and organist/pianist Sanghee Kim will be back from their post holiday break and our Adult Choir will sing at the 11 AM Service.

CHRISTMAS EVE
4 PM Family Service
"Nativity in a Trunk"
Led by our minister, Tom Rosiello and our DRE, Michele Coté
This service will be oriented towards our children. We will have lots of them participating as we act out the Christmas Story and create a Christmas Tableau. Our Junior Choir and Youth Choir will be performing, and there will be familiar carols for all to sing. We will conclude this service with the traditional candle-lighting ceremony.
9 PM Traditional Christmas Eve Service
Led by our minister, Tom Rosiello. this service will feature traditional Christmas carols and anthems, the reading of the story of the birth of Jesus from the Christian Gospels, and a candle-lighting ceremony. It will be a quieter and more traditional service than the 4 PM service, with beautiful music provided by the Adult Choir, under the direction of Mike Pfizer, organist/pianist Sanghee Kim, and talented guest musicians. An extended prelude of Christmas music will begin at 8:45 PM. Be sure to come early!
