The First Parish Church of Stow and Acton is hosting a weekend full of FREE events, Sept. 19th through the 21st, to celebrate the dedication of their new “Connector” Building. Everyone is invited to come and celebrate with us.
Friday, 9/19:
- 7:30pm: “Strings and Pipes” in the Sanctuary
The celebration begins with a concert of music for piano, organ, violin, and cello. Performers include Malcolm Halliday on piano/organ, our own pianist/organist, Sanghee Kim, Yulia Zhuravieva on violin, and Seong-Heui Jeon on cello. A reception will follow and childcare will be provided.
Saturday, 9/20:
- 10am: “Children’s Celebration” – Rosalita’s Puppets will entertain children of all ages with a marionette show “The Sea Story,” featuring pirates, mermaids, sea creatures and more!
- 1pm to 4pm: “FPC on Parade” in the new Community Room, including performances by FPC musicians, a presentation on the History of First Parish Church, and information on the various programs and activities at FPC (times will be posted on the website closer to the date). The new “Vestry Café” will also be open for coffee, cold drinks, sandwiches, and snacks.
- 1pm: Piano & Voice

- 7:30pm: Silent Movie - “The Freshman” by Harold Lloyd will be presented, with accompaniment by internationally renowned silent movie organist, Peter Krasinski, on our restored historic pipe organ.
Sunday, 9/21
- 9 am Service: “A Child’s Introduction to the New Building”. This service will begin in the Sanctuary and will move through the new building as the children learn about and dedicate the new space.
- 11 am Service: Former Intern Minister, The Rev. Rebecca Benefiel Bijur, will lead a service celebrating the new building, reflecting on gifts that live on in our lives, and what it means to accept and leave a legacy.
