The transition to a vegan diet can pose a challenge for a host of reasons. To help us learn how to cook the food from each other, we will have a plant-based pot luck. Please bring something plant-based to share and recipes on note cards.
To help us learn more generally from each other we will have an Open Space discussion. At the event, but before the discussion people will be invited to state topics that they would like to host a discussion about. In general, a person will host one topic and attend one or two others. To host a discussion does not require being an expert. It just requires interest. Before starting we will introduce topics. For example I will introduce easy appliances. Each topic will get a table and a slot.
After the videos, each topic will be scheduled into one of two 30 minute slots and assigned a table. During each slot, participants can choose to attend the topic discussion of their interest. Participants are totally free. If they find that they aren't learning or aren't contributing to a topic, they are free to attend an other topic within the same time slot.
For entertainment and to stimulate thought and discussion we will also show some short videos on quick and inexpensive preparation of truly healthy food.
