Cindy Landrum will lead worship at FPC for 20th annual Joint Summer Service of the Bolton, Fitchburg, Harvard, Lancaster, Leominster, Littleton, Marlborough/Hudson, and Stow/Acton UU churches. There will be a pick-up choir with all singers welcome and rehearsal beginning at 8:30 AM. Music for the pick-up choir will be available in advance upon request.

Shana Dumont Garr will share her ideas about how the history of philosophy and art is closely related to spiritual understanding. She will offer specific examples from the 6th century philosophers Heraclitus and Parmenides to the 1st century CE Roman poet Lucretius, and from the 13th century Medieval scholar Meister Eckhart to the contemporary American artists David Hammons and Guadalupe Maravilla.

Join us for a recording of this year's Sunday service at General Assembly held in Pittsburgh last weekend. It is the largest annual gathering of dedicated UUs joined together in worship.
This powerful, communal worship experience features three beautiful music performances from the GA Choir, an inspiring children’s story that rings true for all ages, and a moving sermon by Rev Manish Mishra-Marzetti that explores the themes of who we are as UUs and what we are becoming.

- Memorial Garden Committee
Why is it so difficult to talk about death? Join Ilene Rudman, Sonja Furneaux, and other members of the Memorial Garden Committee as they address this question and many others. An interactive experience is promised, and there will be an option to visit the Memorial Garden after the service.

- Racial Justice Task Force
Three years after the murder of George Floyd on a Minneapolis street corner, members of the Racial Justice Task Force ask, “Where do we find ourselves in the continuing journey toward racial justice?” This service will explore the ups and downs of the last three years: progress made, work still to be done, the challenges of effective and continuing white allyship, and ways to keep the passion, hope, and energy going in the midst of all the resistance and continuing struggle for justice.

Our last Sunday before “summer services” will be a “Question Box Sermon” – an old UU tradition where we ask you to submit questions to a box we’ll have available, and Rev. Cindy will answer as many as time permits in the sermon! The rest of the service will be music-filled as we celebrate our time with our Music Director Brad Dumont, and with our Acting Director of Religious Education, Marissa Evans, and wish them both well on their future paths.
Our service will be followed by our annual picnic on the church lawn (library side of the church where there’s some shade). This is a bring-your-own lunch and picnic gear (plates, napkins, utensils, beverages, blankets, chairs, sunscreen, lawn games, ukuleles….) but you’re also welcome to bring an element to share if you wish, and we’ll have a table for potluck-style offerings to be shared.
