- Rev. Dr. Cynthia L. Landrum
The Flower Communion is a beloved ritual unique to Unitarian Universalism that celebrates the diversity of humanity, as we all bring a flower to the service and take a different flower home with us. The flower communion was first celebrated in the Unitarian church in Prague, Czechoslovakia on June 4, 1923, making this day the 100th anniversary. We’ll be sharing the story of its creator, Rev. Norbert Fabian Čapek, and how it was brought to this congregation by our former minister, Rev. Hvězdoň Kafka, and sharing videos of Prague’s current minister Rev. Dr. Petr Samojský that were recorded by the UUA in his November visit to Stow!
This service will also feature a special recognition of our accompanist Sanghee Kim, thanks for her time with us, and blessings for her future.
Masks are required in the sanctuary, with the exception of being optional for speakers, soloists, and in the balcony.
