Mother Earth has been amazingly resilient and resourceful in supporting life on earth. But the demands posed by our current civilization have become too serious. Mother Earth needs our help. At this service we will focus on reflection and discussion of the specific actions each of us can take in the year ahead to help her out.

Anne Yeomans, a psychotherapist, has taught workshops on non-violence and healing dialogue, and facilitated countless women’s circles in the U.S. and abroad. A poet and grandmother, Anne lives in Western Mass.

14th annual Joint Summer Service with 6 area UU churches, hosted this year by the First Parish Church of Stow & Acton. Daniel Payne will lead the worship on “Great Freedom, Great Responsibility.” Pick-up choir rehearsal at 8:30 AM. (in the Sanctuary)

Amy Gay and Karen Ross “The Role of Dialogue in Understanding.” Come experience dialogue as a communication process that allows us to deeply listen and better understand each person’s perspective. Dialogue questions will be focused the First Parish’s transition to a new minister.

Coffee, juice and breakfast snacks will be served by the Committee on Ministry starting at 9:45AM in front of the Church. Worship will be held outside (weather permitting) and will be led by Our Junior Youth, under the direction of Paul Spanagel, our Youth Director. This Church Picnic will take place immediately following the service. Bring a side dish to share. Meats and veggie burgers will be provided.
